I have always had that special ear for good music. Now by good music I mean music more fitted to my sound and my feeling of it but others may feel differently. Any close friends or family too me would always take my music recommendations from multiple genres and would even come to me with music they like to see if I would vibe with it too. There tends to be something within certain pieces of music that make me feel a way I can’t explain, its very few songs as they are rare moments but they hit me differently than my usual catalogue would. This doesn’t happen with every genre out there but for a majority that I would listen on a daily, I can apply it. I enjoy being the music person to friends and family as they share their tastes with me and help me create / find new music.
This is where it gets a little bit tricky for me, but it is something I will conquer to continue my dream. Having the ear for music is one thing but actually applying that into a piece of music is a whole different ball game. For one, I hadn’t considered just how much goes into a piece of music and two, using the software. Combining these two together and you’ve got yourself a mess. Currently I am learning my way through Pro Tools, a high industry standard software for music production. Believe me when I say it is not beginner friendly and can be very tricky to get the hang of things especially not being very good at computers to begin with.
Now I have been boasting about my ear for music and how I know the right sound when I hear it and so on yet I write this with no musical background at all. By no means am I saying it is necessary but it would have certainly helped me progress quicker just having the common knowledge, as would have playing an instrument but….here we are. Eventually I would be keen to learn some instruments such as the piano for its rich sounds and to look cool when playing, but we are stuck with Pro Tools for the moment, all in good time as they say.

With no musical background you would at least expect me to surround myself with huge music lover and here is where I let you down again. As I said I am the music person to turn too and it would be very rare for me to go to someone in search for a sound, whilst I love being that person I do feel surrounding myself with those on a similar journey and similar tastes would do me the world of good.
